Thank you! I'm so pleased I've figured this out! Okay, now I'm going to have to get a paid site. I've got three lovely icons but I just know I'm want more, lol.
Wish I could offer assistance but regret I am truly clueless at this. If that is supposed to be the case then I have been doing the makers of the wonderful icons I have used a disservice. I do credit in an LJ entry but have no idea how to make the artist's name appear with the icon.
See my longer comment further down on this page--the credit actually only appears on the page which displays all your icons. My understanding of LJ etiquette (admittedly imperfect!) is that you are doing exactly the right thing by giving an inital credit/thanks in a LJ entry.
Yes, I'm feeling the same hunger, now that I know how easy it is to "snag" the icons these talented and generous people are offering. (I think I'm going to give up on making my own; I can't seem to figure out how to make the picture small enough but not too small.) You can feel proud that, unlike me, it didn't take you over a year on LJ to figure this out! And I think the term for doing this is GIP: Gratutitous Icon Post. I've seen that a lot, when folks just want to show off a lovely new icon, and I spent ages trying to guess what the acronym stood for, till, thank goodness, some kind soul wrote it all out.
