In the spirit of actual using a journal to record thoughts and seek the input of others, I've been musing about a few things and would like to hear your thoughts. Why? Well, mostly just 'cause I'm interested in your views, but also because some of your reflections may help me come up with plot ideas, lol. And because your perspectives can help enrich my view and appreciation of these characters, which hopefully will translate into better stories. Finally, I'm hoping your responses may lead me to some great fic I've not yet read. Feel free to respond to any or all of the questions below:

What first 'hooked' you to The Sentinel?

What do you most like about the series scenario?

What bugs you most about the characters?

What do you like best about them? Individually? Together?

Are there plots/situations/missing scenes that you'd really like to see explored in fan fic?

Are there storylines you hope to never see again? (Note: this is not to suggest that I'd never write such storylines again, lol -- but I might put on a warning so you wouldn't waste your time reading it)

Who are your favorite authors? Why?

Do you have any 'most favorite stories'?

Thanks!

Since I was just so fed up with some other thing, I decided to indulge myself in a little Jim-and-Blair-fun. :-) That's the way I love my fandom. *g* And your quiz is just the right thing to distract me. :-)

>>What first 'hooked' you to The Sentinel?

A really bad written PWP whose author I can't even remember. What I *can* remember, very distinctly, is the "huh?" moment when I read about that long haired guy with a nipple ring doing the horizontal mambo with that other guy with the absolut fabulous body and the apparently odd illness that makes him fugue out constantly. *g*

When I looked the names up on google I discovered that the were apprantly the main characters of a tv show called "The Sentinel". The next thing I know was, I got pay-TV in order to be able to watch that show. *g*

>>What do you most like about the series scenario?

That two guy who seem to be so different from each other get along so well. And the senses, actually. I found this simply interesting.

>>What bugs you most about the characters?

The canon characters? Frankly, nothing. I love them as they are. Flawed, warts and all, dick-skinned one time, sensitive at other times. There are some things that bug me about the show or some episodes, but about the characters themselves? Nothing. :-)

>>What do you like best about them? Individually? Together?

About both: they're both honorable men with a strong sense for justice and loyalty. Well, yes, sometimes you need to look twice but in the end they're trying to do the right thing. Can't ask for more. :-) Blair: curiosity, quick on his feet, uncommon thinking and behavior. Jim: intelligence, sensibility (and no, I'm not talking just about his senses).

You didn't ask about the looks, did you? ;-)

>>Are there plots/situations/missing scenes that you'd really like to see explored in fan fic?<<

Oh yes. *g* Tons.

>>Are there storylines you hope to never see again?

No, no specific storylines but particular characterisations.

>>Who are your favorite authors? Why?

Anyone who can write a thrilling case-story or a mystery with a lot of suspense with a slash-background and keeps the guys in character enough for me to actually recognize them without any problems. *g* That's why I love the Thin Blue Line Movies so much. *g*

I'm willing to let the slash-background slide if the story is gripping enough. ;-)

>>Do you have any 'most favorite stories'?

A lot. One of my all time favorites is Lanning Cooks "Many Waters".
