Amen! I've met my best friends from the internet. I just we were closer so we could visit more often. Skype is a good thing!!

Oh, I agree, but then it's kinda neat to see Surfers' Paradise and Cook Strait and Budapest and the fens and Paris and .... well, it's been great. But yes, as travel gets harder, I wish we were all within driving distance of one another. Would make it a whole lot easier to get together. ::hugs::

I'd go so far as take this one step further; without fandom I would have no close friends, because it was through fandom I met my closest friends. Through fandom I made some friends all over the world. The internet has just expanded that.
