Encouraging News

Just saw this article in the New York Times and was encouraged that attitudes toward same sex marriage in the US seem to be changing quite significantly ... which isn't what one might suspect if one only listened to the rabid news generated by Tea Party and fair right religious hate mongers. As a very close neighbour and someone who spends half my time now in the US, I'm vastly relieved to see numbers like this that suggest that the silent majority of Americans aren't as crazy, mean-spritied or bigoted as the headlines would suggest: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/22/weekinreview/22gay.html?nl=us&emc=politicsemailema5

It's about seeding ideas to spur thought. It's been prohibited for the past decade so we're all rusty at it :-)
