I'm doing something wrong again. I just did a rant and posted it as private to my journal to ensure I did the 'cut' right. And then I posted it to flist only. But when I checked StarWatcher's flist, to see if it went through right, I saw that both the private and the friends version were there. So, why did my 'private' version show up? Anyone with an idea of what I might have done wrong?

Hey hon! It would show up to you, because it is private to *you*. No one but you would have been able to see it.

I'm assuming you *were* logged in at the time, yes?

As for me, I can see your f-locked version on my friends page, but not your private one :-)

Thanks, Bev. I guess I was just surprised to see both version on Linda's friend page (she gave me permission to go inside her journal to see what 'she sees' to check how my posts look to her). But if you're only seeing the flist version, then I guess it's really okay. Really appreciate you letting me know.

That freaked me out, too. I believe that it shows up because your computer recognizes you as "you", therefore allowed to see your posts. If you log out of LJ, sometimes you can't see what others can't see. OTOH, sometimes the software still "recognizes" you and shows you your posts. We just have to trust that it's working the way it's supposed to. Based on reports from others, it does.

Another little suggestion: friend yourself. That way you can see what you wrote like everyone sees it, in order. Sounds weird, but it works.
