CONGRATULATIONS ... and THANK YOU!
Dec. 27th, 2009 04:21 pmFirst and foremost, I want to congratulate all the winners of this year's LMFA Awards process ... and all those who were nominated, too. Together, all of you give us an amazingly rich source of stories, art and songvids, as well as wonderful archives and websites to safeguard those riches.
This year, especially after losing so much with the geocities closures, I'm particularly grateful to those who contribute by hosting stories and by linking them so we can readily find them. And the often unsung contributors, our betas, help us to give the best we can to the fandom. I'm sure grateful to mine, StarWatcher. And I'm grateful to all the folks who contribute so much time and real effort to give us the annual LMFA Awards process, which is both an annual source of excellent contributions through the nominations' lists, and also a kind of feedback mechanism to all who are nominated and selected, something I particularly treasure in these days of pretty sparse feedback on individual stories. So, a hearty round of applause to everyone who continues to inject life and energy and fun into this wonderful fandom.
And, finally, last but certainly not least, I want to thank those kind and generous people who nominated and voted for my stories ... I'm thrilled to have won gen awards for gen crossover (SG-22), gen novel (What About Now?), and gen episode related (It's About Friendship), as well as slash awards for slash post TSbyBS (The Silent Key), slash established relationship (Half Heaven, Half Heartbreak), and the one that totally astonished me, Outstanding Slash Author. It's been a rough couple of years, with three major surgeries, one minor operation, two shoulder replacements, a brush with cancer resulting in a total hysterectomy and a subsequent protracted post op infection with attendant complications with which I'm still contending. Consequently, I haven't been writing all that much and when one isn't well it's easy to feel isolated ... well, let's just say these awards are such gifts, gifts which I have always treasured but never so much as this year.
Thank you, all of you, so much.

Date: 2009-12-28 03:21 am (UTC)You've brought lots of people into the fandom because you move comfortably through most of the genres and allow any newbie to find their comfort level. There ought to be an LMFA award for that too :-)

Date: 2009-12-28 04:03 am (UTC)i know everyone sees these things differently but you really do have such a lovely grasp of them compared to some writers and the way you can stay true to them is, i think, what makes your romances work. you make it touchy without ever veering off into sap territory. the friendship underlies it all and that makes it just lovely and beautiful :)
