First and foremost, I want to congratulate all the winners of this year's LMFA Awards process ... and all those who were nominated, too. Together, all of you give us an amazingly rich source of stories, art and songvids, as well as wonderful archives and websites to safeguard those riches.

This year, especially after losing so much with the geocities closures, I'm particularly grateful to those who contribute by hosting stories and by linking them so we can readily find them. And the often unsung contributors, our betas, help us to give the best we can to the fandom. I'm sure grateful to mine, StarWatcher. And I'm grateful to all the folks who contribute so much time and real effort to give us the annual LMFA Awards process, which is both an annual source of excellent contributions through the nominations' lists, and also a kind of feedback mechanism to all who are nominated and selected, something I particularly treasure in these days of pretty sparse feedback on individual stories. So, a hearty round of applause to everyone who continues to inject life and energy and fun into this wonderful fandom.

And, finally, last but certainly not least, I want to thank those kind and generous people who nominated and voted for my stories ... I'm thrilled to have won gen awards for gen crossover (SG-22), gen novel (What About Now?), and gen episode related (It's About Friendship), as well as slash awards for slash post TSbyBS (The Silent Key), slash established relationship (Half Heaven, Half Heartbreak), and the one that totally astonished me, Outstanding Slash Author. It's been a rough couple of years, with three major surgeries, one minor operation, two shoulder replacements, a brush with cancer resulting in a total hysterectomy and a subsequent protracted post op infection with attendant complications with which I'm still contending. Consequently, I haven't been writing all that much and when one isn't well it's easy to feel isolated ... well, let's just say these awards are such gifts, gifts which I have always treasured but never so much as this year.

Thank you, all of you, so much.

Ah, thanks, Jane. I'm nowhere near being a pro, like you, but until the past couple years, writing was my true joy in life. I'm always so delighted when people enjoy the stories I write. And thanks again for contributing your time and effort to the LMFA, and for the stories and art you give the fandom.

Not surprised in the least! You are truly the most well rounded author writing in so many genres from slash to gen to AUs and cross-overs. I recall finding fan fiction through a google mistake and reading Dawn C first. I had no idea what slash was and, of course, the first few stories I encountered in slash were just awful - no story, just porn and any two males would have done for it. The names Jim and Blair just offered a venue to put it in a TS site. Then I came across your slash stories after meeting you on the SA list and saw how excellent slash could be, moving on to other talented writers.

You've brought lots of people into the fandom because you move comfortably through most of the genres and allow any newbie to find their comfort level. There ought to be an LMFA award for that too :-)

I think I've said before that you're about the only slash author I read in this fandom. Even though I totally believe that the boys are soul-mates, the vast majority of slash that I've seen feels ridiculously forces and is OOC to boot. In the fics of yours that I've read, the boys not only remain true to the people they are but the slash relationship between them reads like a perfectly natural progression of the friendship they already share. Which makes it just beautiful to see :)

I really appreciate your observations and comments about the way I depict their slash relationship. For me, it all begins and ends with their phenomenal friendship, and though everyone has their own sense of their voices and personalities, I try to hold true to how I perceive their characters in canon. I'm really touched by how much you enjoy the stories.

the best romances are always about the friendship that underlies them which is what makes yours stand apart from a lot of Sentinel slash where it's almost like the writers are going "hey, they'd look REALLY hawt together!" and, at that point, they don't bother putzing around with lame things like characterization *rolls eyes*

i know everyone sees these things differently but you really do have such a lovely grasp of them compared to some writers and the way you can stay true to them is, i think, what makes your romances work. you make it touchy without ever veering off into sap territory. the friendship underlies it all and that makes it just lovely and beautiful :)

LOL, you can tell I've been all fogged up by this cold and not thinking or recalling very clearly. I was thinking of Polly B in Oklahoma, where their first blizzard shut everything down.

Tucson, huh. You know, we just might be able to actually get together this spring. I'll be passing through there on my way to New Mexico to visit StarWatcher -- either late March or over Easter.
