Oct. 22nd, 2005 06:33 pmTo all my friends! Sorry if I've been filling your 'Friends' list today -- I'm trying to learn coding and how to post stories behind tags and stuff. I think I'm figuring it out with StarWatcher's help ... we'll see!

Date: 2005-10-23 04:20 am (UTC)Right both times. You can go from your own user info page to tap on another name, or the other person's user info page, or simply tap on the name if it's on a post; many methods, same result.
Or... (and it took me six months to learn this), you can "friend" yourself. Then, when you click on your friends' page, you'll see your own post as everyone else sees it.
I am so slow at this!
Nah, you're getting on much quicker than I did. But it is confusing at first; I can't tell you how I sweated to make my first posts readable! But I guarantee, in another month you'll wonder that you could ever have had so much trouble with something that's so simple! *g*
And, really, it's like a tutorial in mini webpage design. Once you're comfortable coding stuff in LJ, you'll be much more ready to tackle the upkeep of your own webpage one of these days. Mistakes are easily fixed; it's the ultimate in hands-on learning. (Assuming you don't choose to go with a client, which I think does the coding for you. But I'm not sure about that.)
After all... we can't let the kids have all the fun now, can we? ;-)
