To all my friends! Sorry if I've been filling your 'Friends' list today -- I'm trying to learn coding and how to post stories behind tags and stuff. I think I'm figuring it out with StarWatcher's help ... we'll see!

I could be wrong about this--we'll ask starwatcher, she'll know!--but I think if you want to see how your post is looking on your friends' friendspages, you can just go there and see. So go to starwatcher's userpage, tap on her username to go to her journal, then tap on "Friends" up at the top, and you'll see her friends' page, which will show you your entry as the rest of us see it. (And if there's a quicker way to get to the friends' page of one of your friends . . . she'll know and, I hope and am sure, will tell us!)

. . . like maybe just tapping on her name right there above her comment to get to her journal . . . I am so slow at this!

Right both times. You can go from your own user info page to tap on another name, or the other person's user info page, or simply tap on the name if it's on a post; many methods, same result.

Or... (and it took me six months to learn this), you can "friend" yourself. Then, when you click on your friends' page, you'll see your own post as everyone else sees it.

I am so slow at this!

Nah, you're getting on much quicker than I did. But it is confusing at first; I can't tell you how I sweated to make my first posts readable! But I guarantee, in another month you'll wonder that you could ever have had so much trouble with something that's so simple! *g*

And, really, it's like a tutorial in mini webpage design. Once you're comfortable coding stuff in LJ, you'll be much more ready to tackle the upkeep of your own webpage one of these days. Mistakes are easily fixed; it's the ultimate in hands-on learning. (Assuming you don't choose to go with a client, which I think does the coding for you. But I'm not sure about that.)

After all... we can't let the kids have all the fun now, can we? ;-)

Yes, I saw that your own entries showed up on your friends page when I went there to double-check that I hadn't entirely blown this advice. Somehow I just assumed one wouldn't be able to do that . . . which just proves what they say about assumptions. I'll go do that now (so I'll be the first to know next time I make a blooper like the mega-photo post!) . . . and then I'll just email you immediately with my cry for help.

Thanks again so much for all your assistance and, better yet, your good-humored support!
