WE DID IT - scratch that - YOU DID IT!
We were $70 short, then $30, then $5 - and now, we're OVER $15,000 for this year's auction! And you guys did it - the best fandom in the world is far from dead and definitely not buried!!!
But not only did this fandom, one filled with remarkable women (and not just a few men), make this auction one of the most exciting, but more people donated $ than in any previous auction. YOU knew it would take many fans donating what they could this time - and you DID IT. From $5 to $3,000, YOU DID IT!
Jim Ellison, Blair Sandburg...they've meant so much to all of us, each in their own way. They've motivated incredible stories, discussions and artwork, as well as groups, archives and lists. They've brought together friends, cemented friendships, united women (and not just a few men *g*) from all over the world, and created a bond that just won't lessen even as the years slip by and we realize OUR show is 16 years old!
And thanks to the two men who gave us the living Jim Ellison and Blair Sandburg, YOU'VE supported the wildlife of the sea and the wildlife of the forests. YOU'VE raised THOUSANDS of dollars in their name for a beautiful bird sanctuary, a seal sanctuary and of course, Moonridge! And you've done it every year.
The Sentinel Fans are the best in the world and yes, I'd love to name every single one of you that brought us to this miracle number of $15,000 during economic times that seemed to dictate a far different result, but that would take far too much space, so can we let the final three fans who put us over the $15,000 stand for us all?
