Update

Thank you, each and every one of you, who have been so supportive over the past few days! Wanted to let you know the good news that the warranty is paying for a whole new engine. I'll be here another week, while that work is being done and we all take time out to celebrate New Years, but that's just a couple extra nights beyond what I'd originally planned. LOL, worse places to be 'stuck' than Orange County CA!

And the allergy attack seems to have ended with no further problems. I'm on the prednisone and anti allergy med prescribed, and doing fine. Not entirely sure what did it, but for now I'm blaming the nasal spray to clear stuffiness just before I went to bed. I've used it before but I've also developed allergies to other medical products after repeated use. So, no lasting harm done and I have the lovely memories of all those gorgeous young men who were so very helpful. ::grins::

It's looking as though I probably won't get down to the OC during this visit - I'm so sorry! I thought it might be doable, but my husband is off work today (we only have one car), and tomorrow my son has an unexpected class he's taking beginning tomorrow.

I'm sorry about the whole car mess, but I know Aly has really appreciated your visit. I guess that's the silver lining in all this!

Keep me posted on your plans -if you end up being stuck here again on Thursday, that might work out better for me. In any event, I remain optimistic that we'll meet in the (in my case, considerable) flesh at some point!

Suzanne, LOL, I think 'considerable flesh' would describe all of us. As it happens, I'm going to try to get another loaner car tomorrow and, regardless, will head back to the desert until the car is fixed. Just too expensive to wait around here in hotels when the engine hasn't arrived yet and they don't seem to know when it will. I'll return when the car is ready, probably next week.
